About Ellie

Well Here Goes….

I’m Ellie, SEN teacher (for 16-19yr olds with severe SEN), a craft-a-holic, foodie (both Eating and cooking – and now growing) and animal lover!

I love all things crafty, particularly knitting, crotchet, jewellery making and most things to do with yarn! I enjoy sewing but am a lazy knitter in that I hate sewing in ends and the finishing off of the projects…. I much prefer the old sewing machine when I get a chance/space to get it out of the cupboard.

I love reading, particularly Terry Pratchett books Game of Thrones, or something historical (fiction or non-fiction) I love gardening and I like to grow as much fruit and veg as I can whilst still having roses tulips and other flowers in the garden!! I have started to forage the hedgerows for elderflowers, elderberries, crab apples etc….

I like history and enjoy learning as much as I can and visiting all sorts of different places. I also love my animals, I have 5; 3 cats, Frodo, Marmalade and Parker and now 1 elderly dog Polly and a young springer spaniel called Sookie! Our latest addition!!

I love taking Polly and Sookie walking, which they also love and Sookie has now taken over the role of cat chaser and squashed from the ageing Polly

AND more recently I have started out on a journey to simplify my life in many different ways!! Clutter, Money, Impact on the planet the list goes on!!! I have become debt free save for the mortgage, I make jam, wine, chutneys and pickles as well as dabble in all sorts of other crafty things like soap making. But yarn is my passion, knitting, crochet, spinning, dyeing….. Ahhhhh bliss!!!

    Hi,

I’m running a movie costume research site (www.very-faery.com) and I was wondering whether I might use your pics from the “Duchess” exhibit on my site (with proper credits and links, of course).

Would be great to hear from you,
    Cheers,
    Ela

Dear Miss Ellie: Would you happen to have any more Sirdar Denim Tweed DK in your stash of leftover wool? You kindly sent me some quite some time ago but now I need one more ball. Sigh.

Oh thank you so much for your reply. As it happens, I just received another ball and a half from a woman in Virginia so I may be okay now. I am frantically trying to finish this sweater and I think I now have enough wool but just in case, maybe just keep yours handy, if you don’t mind. I really appreciate your help. I think my daughter Jessica also e-mailed you so I told her I would reply. Thanks ever so much for your help.

    Joanne
