Granny’s early birthday present
Granny has now begun her grand tour of Scotland having at 86 caught the train to Glasgow etc etc to visit family and see a few sights and whilst she is away she has a birthday so I dropped a present up to her before she left….
The last time she visited me she fell in love with some linen wool mix that I had in my stash….. And wanted a long waistcoat type thing knitted from it….
I finally found a pattern I could cannibalise from the Rowan Lenpur Linen collection book loaned to me by my lovely friend Alison! And I started to knit…… Double moss stitch all the way with cabling down the front…. The yarn knitted up like sack cloth….. Mmmmmmm was a trial……
However upon sewing up and with some man handling the yarn started to soften…. The pattern looked lovely and it finally got finished in time!!!
Here is Granny modelling her new acquisition!!
She was pleased as punch and decided to take with her on her Scotland adventure!!!
