Crocheted baby blanket!

August 27, 2011

A pram blanket for a now VERY overdue little boy!!!

How to:

(NB UK TERMINOLGY USED)

Find a variety of about 6 coordinating colours in DK yarn (NB the more washable the better for babies!)  Divide your colours into main and sub colours (the mains will be used for th trebles and the subs for the doubles)

Using a 4mm Crochet hook make a foundation chain of 103 sts in your first main colour.

Into 3rd st from hook make a treble, treble to end of row, turn

Continue making rows of trebles until you are bored of that colour….

Attach a sub yarn and complete 1 row of doubles,

Attach next main yarn and do a few rows of trebles….

etc etc etc until your blanket is square.

Then go round the outer edge of the blanket in one or two of your main colours 4 times in rows of double crochet stitches

et voila a blanket the perfect size for baby in the pram, pushchair or car seat!
