Flavoured sugars!

I decided to try pre-flavouring some sugars for use in cooking etc.  I have made 2 so far…. but there may be more depends on how the mood takes me!!

Lavender sugar:

150g of sugar and about 10 flower heads

add the flower heads to the sugar in a jar and shake.  Shake daily for three or so days then remove flower heads!

 

Vanilla sugar:

1 vanilla pod and a 200g or more of sugar

Put the vanilla pod and the sugar in a blender and blitz, then transfer it all to a jar for storage!

et voila two flavoured sugars ready for my next baking mission or for adding to Christmas boxes!!
