Draft Excluders

September 5, 2010

I had a thought about preparing the home for the winter months…. This thought involved painting the wooden bits of the back and front steps with varnish and also my thoughts turned to the howling gale that sometimes comes under my front door thanks to the almost useless door brushes…. The curtain on the back of the door goes some way to mitigating the draft but I think a draft excluder would work better, reduce my energy bills, cheaper alternative to new door brushes and stash busting to boot!!

I used some of the left over cotton fabric from my Gran’s curtain making episode…. some lentils and some stuffing sewed the fabric into a tube, stuffed it loosely with lentils and stuffing and hand sewed the end closed….

Et voila!
